Fundraising Process

Thank you for considering the South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® as the beneficiary of your special event/promotion. Two documents are needed to start the process of partnering with us in order to legally use our name and logo: the Third Party Special Event Application and the Guidelines to further explain how a partnership with the Komen South Florida Affiliate would work.

Once you submit the application to the development office, it will be processed for approval, which normally takes a few days. Then a Letter of Agreement will be issued, which clearly defines the expectations of both parties, with all information being drawn from the Application. A guarantee of a $1,000 minimum donation is required by this Affiliate. Up to 75% of all money raised will stay in our tri-county service area of Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties to fund screening and treatment programs. The remaining money will be used toward cutting-edge research. The next step after we receive the signature page of the Letter of Agreement would be to send you the Affiliate logo and the correct verbiage for use of our name in your promotional materials. We do request the opportunity to review and approve any/all materials that incorporate our name and/or logo prior to their distribution.  

The advantage of this partnership, of course, is the ability to use our name and logo, both of which are very powerful marketing tools. We rely heavily on this type of fundraising – particularly during the current economic climate – and in return the following support would be available:

  1. Mention of your event on our website Calendar of Events
  2. Logo and name use within your promotional materials
  3. Mention of your event in our monthly e-blast to 16,000+ supporters in our service area of Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties
  4. Volunteers, if needed, on the day of your event - they are not able to handle funds but they can assist in other areas of the event
  5. A speaker who would explain to your participants what we do and how fundraising revenues are utilized. We always appreciate this opportunity, even if only for a few minutes.
  6. A gift basket for a chance drawing, if applicable
  7. Promotional items and educational materials for your attendees (no charge!)
