Funding Priorities

  • 75% of our net proceeds stays in our service area of Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties to fund vital breast health education and breast cancer screening, treatment and patient navigation grants.
  • 25% is contributed to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grant Program to fund ground-breaking breast cancer research.

Funding Opportunities

The South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is currently offering grants to nonprofits for innovative programs, to promote good breast health, that reduce breast cancer mortality, especially among those who are disproportionately affected by this disease. Through our Community Profile, we have identified the following funding priorities:

  1. Provide breast health education in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties with special consideration in any of the five target areas and primary populations of interest.
  2. Provide transportation for breast health and breast cancer services in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties with special consideration in any of the five target areas and primary populations of interest.
  3. Provide community empowerment projects directed at breast health and breast cancer in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties with special consideration in any of the five target areas and primary populations of interest.
  4. Provide screening and/or treatment in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties with special consideration in any of the five target areas and primary populations of interest.
  5. Provide breast health navigation in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties with special consideration in any of the five target areas and primary populations of interest.

The Five Target Areas: Fort Pierce, Indiantown, I-95 Corridor, SW Seniors, and the Glades. Populations of primary interest are: African Americans/ Blacks, Hispanic/Latinos and Seniors, identified as 60+.
