 This year we're encouraging all our participants to get involved in "The Power of 10" initiative for the 2010 Susan G. Komen South Florida Race for the Cure®.
The Power of 10!
It's simple, if each participant asks 10 people to donate at least $10 each, each Race participant will raise $100. If each of the expected 23,000 Race participants raised $100, we would have $2.3 million to fight breast cancer in our community! Imagine the the number of lives we could touch!
TIPS TO HELP MAKE COLLECTING DONATIONS EASIER:
- Use all the electronic tools provided with your personal webpage.
- Encourage donations via website by credit card.
- Collect your donations up front so you don't have to ask for them a second time.
- Ask at least one person per day to make a donation.
- Anyone is a potential donor.
- Ask people with whom you have daily contact to support you or with whom you have a preestablished relationship.
- Tell your pledge supporters why you're walking for Komen.
- Keep your collection envelope with you at all times.
- For those not able or willing to donate online, collect checks made payable to: Komen South Florida Race for the Cure
- Cash and check donations raised offline can be tracked through website.

STEP 1: Go to www.Komensouthflorida.org to register for the Race.
STEP 2: Follow the prompts for the various ways to register for the Komen South Florida Race for the Cure.
STEP 3: Once online registration is complete, each participant is emailed the link to a personal web page template. This web page can be personalized and updated. Pledges can be made via credit card in a safe environment. Donations can be made by check or credit card.
